Bacolod City: My Last Day

On my last day in Bacolod City, I woke up early. Took a shower then packed up. Went to the Sweet City Captel Cafeteria for breakfast. After breakfast I checked out from my room and walked to the nearby Capitol  grounds and crossed the street for Negros Forest and Ecological Park. Since it was still 8 in the morning (It opens at 9 in the morning ) I went to the nearby Negros Organic Market.  In there you could see organic crops and a restaurant. The restaurant was still closed too. I went back to the Capitol Grounds to see some people jogging around the lagoon.

When it was about 9 am I entered the Forest Park. Paid an entrance fee of 40php. You can see in the Forest Park the Famour Negros hornbills and some native warty pigs. After about 30 minutes I went out and proceeded to the Negros  Museum.unfortunately they were closed on Monday. They open only during Thursdays to Sundays. So I just took a picture of the facade. After that I boarded a jeep bound for SM Bacolod. From there I crossed to Pope John Paul Memorial Tower and got inside. Paid entrance fee of Php 40, I went to the 7th floor. From there you can see the view of Bacolod City. In the Tower you can find memorabilia of the late Pope.

I also saw some pieces of artworks being displayed but they have no names yet. Just shot some pics of it. Then I went inside SM City to buy some food and drinks before boarding the shuttle van bound to the airport (php100 ).

Bacolod City: Exploring the City

After touring the Panaad Park, I took a Jeep to the City (php8). I stopped by the St. Joseph Cathedral to attend mass. After that, I explored the city. Went to the City port, The Capitol Grounds, City Hall and took a peek at the SM City Bacolod.

While roaming around the city I also saw some street vendors selling various kinds of foods. They looked so tempting that I really tried.

Hot Ice cream

Battered Fried Duck egg

Lumpia tuna

After a few hours I went back to my hotel and relaxed. Took a short nap. When it was about 8 Pm I boarder a jeep bound to Manukan Country for dinner. Manukan Country is an array of grills that serve mostly Chicken Inasal. Not sure which food shop to enter, I went to the place where there were plenty of guests dining. The logic?- perhaps they must have good food so there were many patrons.

I entered and saw these fresh oysters , I ordered one serving  and a chicken Inasal.

After dinner, I walked around, hailed again a jeepney back to the Capitol. (php 8). Watched tv for a while in the lobby. At around 11 pm, I slept.

Bacolod: Negros Occidental Panaad Park and Stadium

After an overnight experience at Mambukal Resort, I went back to Bacolod. Upon arriving Bacolod City, I went to the cheapest hotel in the city, the Sweet City Captel owned and operated by the Provincial government located just at the back of the Capitol building. It has a dorm type room with aircon and non-aircon room. Rates start at Php 100 per day. I chose the non-aircon room.

After checking in the hotel, I took a short nap and took a shower. After refreshing, I had no plans where to go. I asked the front desk and he suggested Panaad Eco-park and Stadium. I asked for a guide on how to go there by jeep but everybody said it was quite far. So I decided to hail a taxi. The taxi told it cost Php 120 to go there. I bargained for Php 80 and since I was his first passenger for the day he agreed.
Panaad Park and Stadium is an eco-tourism Park. In the park are Miniature Models of Local Government units of the Province of Negros Occidental. Most are already modern structures.
